Role Description
Radio Network Design Sr.
Radio Network Design Engineers are focused on pre-sales and tender activities, ensuring that the most competitive network tender design is offered to the customer in accordance with requirements.
< 4 years of experience
Role
• Tender coverage calculations, theoretical studies and/or predictions.
• Tender traffic and capacity calculations.
• Tender dimensioning and selection of radio equipment, antennas and combiners.
• Tender dimensioning and selection of BSC and/or RNC nodes
• Power, frequency and interference analysis.
• Assisting with cost estimations for the radio network
• Support the Marketing and Sales with technical solutions for offers provided to customers
• Identify customer needs and collect user requirements to improve or add on a network design
• Follow up and be up to date with the development of new functions of the radio tools and methods used
• Respond on customer requests for information or design solutions.
• Be able to convert the latest HW and SW features into practical radio optimized designs.
• Increase customer’s awareness of Ericsson radio design solutions.
• Other role as requested by the technical manager
Competence
• Superior technical knowledge on Ericsson Radio design tools and methods as well as practical experience in radio design of GSM and WCDMA networks and solutions. At least 5 years in the mobile systems network environment
• Knowledge in Ericsson specific data support systems, which includes MS Office package, Internet/Intranet, TCPU or other RF planning tool, TEM Investigation or other RF drive test tool.
• Knowledge in mobile systems as well as understand the factors that affect system performance in the area of radio base stations.
• Knowledge in mobile systems as well as understand the processes that control system performance. Included in this area are e.g.:
- Radio HW and SW
- Radio Tools and systems
- UTRAN
- Mobile terminals
• Radio design in GSM and WCDMA
• Performance and optimization measurements and interferences
• Network radio tuning and drive testing
• TCPU and other related radio design tools
• CMEX, Candi
• Circuit Switched and Packet data communications
• Project time schedule
• Reporting required by PROPS and other local application
