We need to have people with some solid GSM optimization experience - would include parameter optimization across different vendors (ALu, ZTE, or Huawai). If they do not have these, then we are also keen to see if we have access to Ericsson or NSN experience.

Role is to work with the local teams in the regions and ensure good optimization techniques are actually done in the field. We would expect them to be comfortable with the following:-

1. Working on mature networks in their past roles; 2. Comfortable with network statistics and data; 3. Able to interpret statistics to provide a picture of how customers experience the network; 4. Comfortable with Air interface parameters and timers that are used to optimize the network; 5. Comfortable with interpreting trace data 6. Knowledgeable around antenna systems, propagation modeling and drive testing analysis.

(A)ALU-GSM experience

(i)Evolve a Golden parameter image set RADIO parameters of ALU-GSM in the following domains

a>POWER CONTROL
b>AMR-CODEC RATE SETS
c>HANDOVER
d>OPTIMUM ASSIGNMENT OF TCH

(ii) Evolve a master document on RADIO NETWORK optimization specifics for ALU -GSM with detail case study and pre/post KPI trends of at least 20 cells for each of the following KPIs

1.TASR(Traffic channel Assignment success rate):
2.DCR(drop call rate)
3.HOSR(Handover success rate)
4.RXQUAL
5.SDCCH Completion rate

(iii) How this above (i and ii) will be Achieved:

In practice, this means starting with a range of values and then via testing in the India field, take some clusters in different morphologies (Urban, Semi Urban ,Rural ) and show improvement in key KPI’s. A combination of statistics, drive testing and customer complaints received should act as evidence that improvements have been made. We expect the selected resource to work within a selected circle – they will be allocated clusters and need to demonstrate improvement on this week over week by applying a combination of good optimization practices together with tangible results. They will have some local RF Engineers and performance engineers working with them to envoke knowledge transfer as well as getting these above mentioned KPI’s improved.

(B) ZTE and Huawai GSM experience

(i) Evolve a Golden parameter image set RADIO parameters of ZTE-GSM in the following domains

b>AMR-CODEC RATE SETS
c>HANDOVER
d>OPTIMUM ASSIGNMENT OF TCH
