20 x Transmission Planning & Design Engineers - 12 month contract in Australia. 457 Visa sponsorship available, work on expanding transmission network for a large increase of SDH & PDH E1 radio links.

CLIENT
Our client is a highly successful multinational Telecommunications infrastructure services company.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• The Transmission Engineer's key accountabilities and responsibilities are:
• Planning and designing microwave transmission networks
• Planning and designing deployment of SDH, PDH and microwave technologies into the transmission networks
• Preparing network design documents
• Providing technical support to field staff for the SDH, PDH and microwave networks
• Perform quality control checks in the network
• Maintain current and accurate transmission network topology documents, diagrams and databases to a standardised format
• Comply with relevant design standards and Australian regulations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• 3 to 5 years Microwave radio link planning and design experience (ideally on Ericsson Mini link, Traffic Node & Siae equipment)
• Transmission configuration experience using Network Manager Systems
• 3-5 year experience of planning Microwave PDH and SDH systems
• Experience with point of interconnect planning and implementation will be useful but not essential
• Tertiary qualification preferably in electronic, electrical / communications engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Transport network planning tools
• Understanding of Transport networks and NMS systems in a mobile network environment
• Highly motivated, positive, ethical team player
• Computer literate and competent with MS office suite applications, Project and Visio/AutoCAD
• Self starter who thrives, unsupervised, in a multi disciplined team environment
• Customer Intimate, and able to mentor staff
• Awareness of business goals, direction and strategy
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Understanding of quality systems, OH&S and regulatory compliance
• Availability to work weekend work, up to 2 Saturdays each month during key phases of the project (if required)
TECHNICAL ENVIRONMENT
• PDH & SDH based Transmission Networks and technologies
• Fixed and microwave Transmission Networks and technologies
• Knowledge of Ericsson Minilink & Traffic node equipment
• Siae microwave Radio equipment
• Knowledge of Transmission configuration using Network Manager Systems such as MV36 MV38 MLM or SOM

LOCATION: Australia, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne (Australia)
START DATE: JUNE, JULY 2011
DURATION: Full Time 12 month contacts

The Ash Group is looking for an RF PM will perform the following: 
• Verify PO and review/revise Budget in MUS. 
• Calculate Planned Costs and update the various Billing Milestone Dates in MUS 
• Update and manage MORE request for RF RND team as necessary for all internal positions 
• Begin discussions with customer on delivery expectations. Discuss processes and procedures as well as hardware delivery requirements to meet the schedule. Discuss support requirements and maintenance windows as well as any special access issues. Discuss and develop the communication plans. 
• Begin discussions with ASP and internal teams on resource forecasts and service delivery strategies for meeting customer requirements. 
• Attend Customer meetings and communicate team strategy/changes to customer as required. Address customer issues/concerns as they arise. Provide any necessary support to RF RND Lead. Ensure that team stays on schedule to meet RFDS deliveries. Ï 
• Review and ensure that all change orders and open issues have been addressed. Perform final scrub of financials and note deviations. Remove any erroneous costs, calculate margins, etc. 

Must have a minimum of 5 years of Wireless RF Project Management experience. Bachelor’s degree would be a plus. Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Job Description: 
Required Skills
• 5+ years experience as UMTS RF Optimization Market Lead or equivalent RF Optimization. Prefer candidate be in market but will consider remote as well. 
Tasks
• Work with RF design engineer to understand the RF design, cluster definition, customer expectation, and network configuration
• Study RF design coverage maps and identify problem areas in terms of coverage, interference, or pilot pollution.
• Plan and execute tasks to optimize RF clusters in the customer network during the deployment phase.
• Determine test equipment needed and work with ALU RF Manager to order it from RF Toolkit group.
• Confirm spectrum clearance, integration testing, power calibration, and call-through tests were carried out, and all entrance criteria are met before start of optimization.
• Troubleshoot problem areas and provide recommendations for system performance enhancements.
• Participate in providing input to the RF sections in the MOP, deployment plan, CATP, and site logistical needs.
• Generate script files necessary for RF optimization using Client WMS and WIPS tools.
• Perform sanity check on antenna configuration.
Preferred Skills
• Familiarity with RF Optimization Handbook procedures
• Familiarity with RF Optimization tools and test equipment
• Familiarity with RF Optimization tunable parameters
• Knowledge of antenna configuration
• Knowledge of ALU system architecture
• Knowledge of Actix Post-Processing tool

Job Description: 

• Verify PO and review/revise Budget in MUS. Calculate Planned Costs and update the various Billing Milestone Dates in MUS - This will apply to the entire PO which should cover the Design, Scripting, RNDCIQ and RF Tuning both Pre- and Post- Launch as per the scope. In most cases there will be POs for every site in the design with multiple services line items per PO 
• Update and manage MORE requests for RF RND team as necessary for all internal positions 
• If Site Handler has been loaded with these POs, confirm these POs are input correctly by the Market PM. Correct input includes correlation between site name, cluster name, market name, WBS line item, FA code and network number. Every RF line item will require a Billing Milestone target date 
• Begin discussions with customer on delivery expectations 
• Discuss processes and procedures as well as hardware delivery requirements to meet the schedule 
• Discuss support requirements and maintenance windows as well as any special access issues 
• Discuss and develop the communication plans 
• Begin discussions with ASP and internal teams on resource forecasts and service delivery strategies for meeting customer requirements 
• Attend Customer meetings and communicate team strategy/changes to customer as required.

• Track OOS change orders and present them to ACR and customer as necessary 
• Ensure that teams stay on schedule to meet delivery targets. Obtain additional resources as necessary 
• Get acceptance of the sites/clusters with RF lead 
• Review/address project costs and update budget and planned costs accordingly in MUS 
• Update project slide deck, if required, to market teams 
• Attend national or regional meetings as required 
• Update financial dashboard if required 
• Release resources as per the resource plan 
• Review and ensure that all change orders and open issues have been addressed 
• Perform final scrub of financials and note deviations. Remove any erroneous costs, calculate margins, etc 
• Perform post mortem of project to capture scope/rollout issues that we had not planned for 
• Provide final financial dashboard update, if required 
• Update final project slide deck, if required. 
• Close project in MORE if applicable 
• Close all RSSs in Einstein/SRM 
• Submit all acceptances to finance, request invoicing and verify invoicing is completed 
• Address any backlog and URR issues 
• TECO networks, Time & Cost limits for the project
