Network Capacity Planner

MUST BE CURRENTLY IN THE USA OR CURRENTLY HAVE A 'WORK' VISA IN HAND. 

The candidate will be able to demonstrate extensive experience in capacity planning and network balancing of multiple complex systems utilizing advanced analysis and modeling techniques. The candidate will also have a broad understanding of telecom platforms (Voice Mail, Messaging, AAA, PDSN, LDAP, LBS, HLR, etc.), networks (CDMA and iDEN Voice and Data) and protocols (SS7, SIP, TDM, etc.)
 
Responsibility: The Network Planner II will be responsible to:
 
• Gather and validate data from various reporting interfaces using a variety of techniques and procedures.
 
• Produce and communicate weekly platform reports.
 
• Develop, maintain and automate the data structures required for platform reporting.
 
• Develop and analyze call models on which to base forecasts.
 
• Formulate equipment plans, deployment plans, network balancing plans and budgets based on forecasts and call models.
 
• Document and communicate platform capacity planning requirements and procedures.
 
• Communicate platform status, issues and budget justifications to leadership.
 
• Analyze new platform handoffs for completeness from Core Network Engineering, identify deficiencies in the handoff documents and accept or reject the handoff.
 
• Communicate and coordinate plans with internal deployment and operations personnel and with Core Network Engineering and Network Development.
 
• Interfaces: Internal: • The Contractor will interface with NTAC, Field Operations, Translations, NEIS, IT and other internal groups with whom planning and deployment activities must be coordinated. External:
 
• The primary external interface with the customer for the Network Planner II will be through Core Network Engineering team. Other secondary customer groups with whom the Network Planner II will interface will be Network Development, Business Operations and Product Development.
 

Skills, Experience and Education:
 
• Strong technical skills and demonstrated ability using MS Access, Excel, Word, Visio, Visual Basic, PHP, SQL and other database experience.
 
• Minimum 3 years telecom platform experience.
 
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written and oral communication skills.
 
• Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
• Proven track record of meeting objectives.
