We are currently looking to hire an experienced 2G/3G RAN Performance engineer on behalf of our client.
This role is a long term assignment and started in September, suitable candidates will be interviewed the first week of July and offered the role immediately.
Job Description 2G RAN Performance Engineer:
· Day to dayperformance monitoring of major KPI s at BSC and cell level drop, TCH Drop,SDCCH Congestion, TCH Congestion, TCH Assignment Success Rate, HandoverSuccessful Rate.
· Analysis the radionetwork performance by collecting and analyzing statistics.
· Recommend actions forradio network expansion and corrective measure.
· Using statistics to forecast the future growth of Network.
· Using statistics to identify the congested parts of the radio network.
· Check consistency,and to find any radio network optimization faults and gives recommendations for correction. (Using OSS application i.e CNA, RNO, PMR, MTR, R-PMO).
· Ensure a healthy radio network performance by regular audits and sanity checks, using statisticsfrom the radio network.
· Setup BSS (GSM andGPRS) statistics in SPG and APG nodes using verified formulas
· Provide all kinds of performance reports for BSC s as per requirements
· Identify the Customer Requirements on the Report Customization
· Make Unix shell script ,SQL Store Proc. to get data from CSDDB and BSDDB of sybase SQL database in OSS applications.
· Manual and Automatic Collection of defined GSM and GPRS statistics to analysis the radio networkperformance
· Use Business Object to generate hourly, daily, busy hour stats, (cell, BSS, network level)
· Liaise with NetQb for performance benchmarking purposes, etc
· Excellent knowledge of GSM technologies, and its interfaces (A, Air, Abis e.g.).
· Good understanding of Standard Ericsson 2G RAN Counters, KPI and its formula.
· Understanding the definition of 2G RAN indicators and key performance indicators.
· Experienced with Ericsson Performance tool for measurement collection, scheduling, analyzing and troubleshooting.
· Good understanding ofEricsson 2G RAN data/measurement flow from NE to OSS.
· Familiar with Ericsson Measurement Data Export interface.
· Knowledge of Ericsson 2GRAN OSS Performance Database and the structure.
· Experienced with Performance Management Tools (e.g. Metrica , BO, Actix).
· Experience of MS SQL and MS Application.
· Experience of working with large databases such as Oracle, MS Sql.
· Good understanding about business object (query designer).
Responsibilities:
· Day to day analysis on 2GRAN network performance by analyzing statistics.
· Ensure a healthy 2G RAN network performance by regular audits and sanity checks, using statistics from the radio network.
· Analyzing Reports forperformance anomalies/exceptions.
· Investigating and escalating performance issues to concern department.
· Producing 2G Radio Network Performance Add hoc or Special Reports.
· Provide recommendation for radio network expansion and corrective maintenance.
· Provide recommendations for 2G RAN performance improvement.
· Ability to work inmulti-vendor environment.
Qualification (formal education needed):
· Bachelor Degree of Telecommunication / Computer Engineering.
· 5 years of experience inNetwork Performance Quality. Having minimum 2 years experience in 3G UMTS technology.
· Software languages,MS Excel (Macro), MS Access, SQL, Sybase etc
Requested competence:
· Extensive experience in relevant field.
· Must have extensive experience with Ericsson equipment
· GSM network operations and maintenance
· Radio Network StatisticsSetup and Analyses
· Understand BSS parameter,feature & counter.
· The RAN Performance Engineer should have a good knowledge acquired through training in the following courses:
1. RDBMS,MS-SQL, Sybase or Oracle Database.
2. UNIX shell script writing, debugging.
3. Advanced knowledge of UNIX and SQL-programming.
4. Computer Skill (Excel, Words and MS-Office).
Rates : According the experience
Duration : 12 months to 24 Months extendable
