Telecom Optimization Invoice Specialist for the Charlotte, NC area.
The Telecom Optimization and Audit Analyst position involves data collection and analysis of client telecom services, network and billing information to determine baseline cost factors, compliance with existing service contracts, historical invoice audits, and cost savings analysis and recommendations.
The Analyst position consists of performing audits to ensure billing accuracy for multiple service types including local, long distance, internet access, VOIP services, cellular, conference calling and data services as well as developing recommendations for savings going forward and managing the implementation of approved recommendations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Establish and maintain good working relationships with clients, vendors, and team members
Analyze and audit telecom invoices using both automated and manual approaches to identify errors and dispute with carrier
Use knowledge of telecom networks and common configurations to identify incorrect billing elements and erroneous charges
Prepare dispute claims and complete documentation to communicate results to internal users
Summarize contracts and billing in easily understandable reports
Participate in internal and client-facing meetings, prepare reports and presentations, and create custom reports as requested
Meet established timelines for regular client reporting
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must have a minimum of 6 years experience in telecommunications (10 years strongly preferred)
Broad knowledge of various telecommunication products, services, networks, carriers, rate plans, contracts, and invoices
Understanding of telecom technology and/or billing systems; prefer previous experience with telecom contracts
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, desired proficiency with Excel specifically
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Enjoy working in fast paced, dynamic environment
Proficiency in math and working with numbers
A solid understanding of databases (SQL server preferred), analysis, and reports generated from databases
Ability to multi-task and the ability to meet deadlines
Strong time-management and organization skills
Ability and willingness to support sales people, an understanding of the sales process, and the ability and willingness to interact directly with clients when necessary.
